About Us
The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) is a nonprofit organization and one of the world’s leading providers of international education and cultural exchange. . For more than 80 years, CIEE has connected universities, students, and host organizations across the globe, creating meaningful work and study experiences that build skills, cultural understanding, and global careers.
Our programs operate in over 30+ countries worldwide. Embedded within an academic course and curriculum, our internship programs provide our participants with the opportunity to provide value and gain professional experience through a short-term internship with a local company or organization.
International internship opportunities through the CIEE programs
The CIEE Tokyo Study Center has been hosted by Sophia University since 1998 and supports a range of programs, including an academic internship program.
Our goal is to connect Tokyo’s global-minded organizations and motivated students from American universities, and to promote cross-cultural exchange through meaningful internship experiences. That means we’re always eager to connect with companies & organizations interested in hosting interns!
The students that join this program are enrolled in American universities and complete their internship in Tokyo as part of their studies for academic credit. There is no cost to the host institution for accommodating the intern, and CIEE will provide housing, visa (when applicable), insurance coverage, 24/7 on-site support etc.
